Deborah Hale, CCS, President of Administrative Consultant Service, LLC, (ACS) is a Certified Coding Specialist and Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist with more than thirty years of experience in Health Care Management including Administration, Health Information Management, Clinical Documentation Improvement, Resource Outcome Management and Utilization Review.
She is a member of the American Health Information Management and the Health Care Finance Management Associations. Deborah has served as a featured speaker for national, state and local conferences including numerous Case Management Conferences, American Health Information Management Association, the Healthcare Finance Management Association, Medical Residency programs and State Hospital Association conferences.
She authored the book “Observation Status: A Complete Guide to Compliant Site of Service Destinations” published by HCPro in October of 2006, with a third edition published in 2011. She is also a regular contributor to numerous Case Management, Recovery Audit Contractor and Revenue Cycle newsletters.
For more than 25 years, she has provided Clinical Documentation Improvement, Utilization Management, coding and billing consultation for hospitals throughout the United States including New York state's severity refined DRG system.
