About Us
Beginning in 1985, Administrative
Consultant Service, LLC, (ACS) was established for the purpose of
assisting hospitals by uniting the efforts of physicians, nurses, coders,
case managers and the utilization review staff to better achieve accurate
documentation and optimal reimbursement. We believe that their continued
collaborative efforts enable hospitals to achieve reimbursement accuracy.
ACS consultation services are designed to
promote ethical reporting of diagnoses and codes through education,
improved documentation, and DRG validation chart review. It has been our
experience that some hospitals find areas in which their billing
practices have resulted in inadvertent over-payment, as well as
under-payment. Achieving inaccurate reimbursement may be attributed to a
combination of factors, including ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding practices,
inadequate physician documentation, and inappropriate level of care
determinations (inpatient versus outpatient).
As our name implies, we work closely with
hospital administrators and key hospital leadership, providing them with
practical recommendations based upon data and standards for ethical
coding. We are known for providing "easy to understand answers" to often
times very difficult and complex coding and billing questions, providing
regulatory guidelines to support our recommendations.
For years, ACS has been known as an
excellent source for quality educational programs, for both the hospital
staff and the physicians.
Deborah Hale, C.C.S., has served as the
company's president since 1985, and continues in that leadership role
today. Based in Shawnee, Oklahoma, ACS currently has eighteen consultants and
a supporting office staff of five. |
